As our tenure began on 𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at the 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐋𝐐𝐒-𝐔𝐀𝐄, last Saturday marked the end of what has been a long and meaningful journey, one filled with challenges, lessons, successes, setbacks, and countless moments in between. Yet, when we pause and reflect today, the destination we have reached feels deeply fulfilling, and the journey that led us here is even more remarkable.
As we, the members of the Outgoing Central Committee, step down and the 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 steps forward, this moment feels both proud and emotional. It is therefore with deep gratitude and sincerity that we share our final message with our SLQS-UAE community.
Thank you for every word of encouragement, every piece of constructive criticism, and every push and pull when it was needed. We stepped forward with the intention of strengthening this community, and in return, this community strengthened us as leaders and as professionals.
During this tenure, together, we have not only continued the proud legacy of SLQS-UAE but have also elevated it to new heights. This year witnessed several remarkable milestones, from record-breaking APC achievements across RICS, AIQS, and IQSSL pathways, the successful delivery of the International Conference, globally participated CPD programmes, professional workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms that reached members across continents. We strengthened community engagement through large-scale professional, cultural, sporting, and CSR initiatives, further reinforcing SLQS-UAE’s reputation as one of the most active and impactful Sri Lankan professional bodies overseas.
We preserved what was built before us, and we initiated what will carry SLQS-UAE forward into the future.
There is no doubt that SLQS-UAE will continue to thrive under the guidance of the 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝, along with the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 , 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 , 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫, and 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫, who will be duly appointed at the first meeting scheduled for 𝟖:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. From that moment onward, the newly appointed leadership team will take the reins into another promising year, which we strongly believe will be nothing short of outstanding.
𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐆𝐌 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞.
Serving this community has been an honour and a privilege that we will always carry with pride. SLQS-UAE has never been about individuals; it has always been about a collective vision, shared values, and the unwavering spirit of Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors supporting one another across borders.
As we conclude this chapter, we step aside with confidence, knowing that the association is stronger than ever and placed in safe and capable hands.
Thank you once again for trusting us, guiding us, and walking this journey with us.
With heartfelt gratitude and respect,
𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞
