Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors in the UAE (SLQS-UAE) successfully concluded the 10th Annual Indoor Cricket Tournament on July 29, 2023, at Danube Sports World in Dubai. This remarkable event, organized by the strongest Sri Lankan professional organization in the UAE, commenced as planned at 8:00 AM with 20 registered cricket teams participating. The tournament concluded at 6:30 PM, followed by the awards ceremony. We are pleased to announce that this year's cricket teams participation has been the highest in the tournament's history, making it a memorable milestone in our journey.
SLQS-UAE extends heartfelt gratitude to all 20 cricket teams (Eagles, Blue Thunders, Capricorn, Cobra, Hiru, Sinha Maroons, Excom, The Blues by Taprobana, USSC Titans, USSC Spirits, Falcon, Variation, Spartans A, Rigga Boys, Bava's XI, Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Spartans B, The Golds by Taprobana, Sinha Legends, Indian Institute of Quantity Surveyorsor) for their enthusiastic participation, as this event wouldn't have been possible without their dedication. Your presence and sportsmanship have added rich memories to our community. We also express our thanks to the players' families and friends who came to support and accompany the teams.
A special note of appreciation goes to the Indian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (IIQS) and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) (Teams outside SLQS-UAE community) for their continued collaboration and professional yet friendly participation in SLQS-UAE's indoor cricket events. Ajith from IIQS, the winning captain of Division 3 in the 1st SLQS-UAE Indoor Cricket Tournament, was a pleasure to see. We also thank Manju Sri, a senior SLQS-UAE member, for bringing the AIQS team to the tournament and dedicating the entire day to them, setting a great example of social responsibility for young QSs. It was wonderful to see EXCOM, a Sri Lankan-owned and -operated professional firm in the UAE and KSA, participate in this tournament for the first time. A special thank you goes to Uthpala and Gayal for making this possible.
