Contract drafting professionals and administrations are to be aware of how to manage conflict avoidance, how to mitigate the adverse impact of dispute and hoe to assist the team during the planning and execution of the project.

“Design Economics & Cost Planning”

Cost control of the project starts at the initiation of the design. This pre-contract cost control will spread through the design development period. When Architect develops the design, Quantity Surveyors/Cost Planners will develop the cost plan. It is interests and important to know how the cost of basic concept design calculated and then develops step by step where the design information (details of the building) is minimum. Quantity Surveyors shall be aware of such cost estimation methods including “Life Cycle Cost” where modern developers have more interest in economical “run” of buildings rather than construction costs.

Quantity Surveyors are cost advises to the design team during the pre-contract stages of the project. Comprehensive knowledge on cost control in the view of “Life Cycle Cost” mechanism is very important to Quantity Surveyor. This is a rare knowledge of the common commercial practice.
